For your toddler, every day brings new discoveries and opportunities to explore the world around him.   Kindermusik Our Time encourages him to be creative, to initiate his own ideas and to respond in his own ways, while your active participation gives him the security she needs. As you play instruments, sing, move, and explore, you’ll uncover an engaging musical world while building your child’s confidence, self-control and communications skills.

Enrollment includes:

  • Developmentally appropriate curriculum for parents and toddlers 18 months to 3 years old

  • 15 week semester
  • Weekly 45-minute class
  • At Home Materials including Family Activity Guide, two literature books, instrument, and two CDs of music from class

What you’ll experience in class:

  • Instrument exploration and ensemble skill development. Your child will explore the physical characteristics and sounds of age-appropriate instruments which will eventually lead her to discover her potential for beat, rhythm, and melodic ensemble playing.
  • Vocal play. Through vocal play, toddlers learn to form vowels and consonants, say words and phrases, and imitate rhythm and vocal inflection. In Kindermusik Our Time, vocal play is presented within the context of songs, chants, and activities done in class.
  • Exploration Time. Your child will love discovering specially designed instruments, textures, sounds and movements.
  • Story time and early literacy. Listening to stories enhances language and speech development and fosters awareness of sounds, teaches use of language, and sends the message that words and symbols have meaning. The same experiences that help your child learn to read a book also help her learn to read music.
  • Movement Activities. Each class provides various opportunities for movement such as synchronized movement, group dances and circle games, and even expressive movement.
  • Together Time. Kindermusik is the essence of quality time, allowing you to make the most of the fleeting toddler years and giving you the time and the tools to make music and memories together in class and at home.
  • Expert advice. A Kindermusik educator explains how our musically based activities enhance your child’s complete development.

For Fall 2010 the curriculum is:  "Milk & Cookies

Milk & Cookies makes everyday home activities and chores easier and more fun with music! Cook and sing to “The Muffin Man”; dust and clean to the original song “In My House”; get ready to wash clothes to the delightful poem “Washing Machine”. Baking cookies, eating cupcakes, blowing on hot cross buns, wiggling like jelly, going grocery shopping and making tea are all represented in familiar as well as new songs. Move, play, and sing together in developmentally appropriate activities created just for 1½ to 3-year-olds. Capture the familiar and new moments of the day and learn how music can impact your toddler.

Materials & Tuition:  $65 Home Materials fee is due at registration.  Tuition is $199 per child for the semester.    An optional four-installment plan of $52/month Sept thru Dec is available for your budgeting convenience.  This is NOT a month-to-month program.  Your enrollment is for the full semester.

For Spring 2011 the curriculum is:  "Fiddle-Dee-Dee

We'll meet many animal characters in our books, activities, and songs—each specifically chosen for a toddler's emerging interests and physical skills. With silly, bumpy lap bounces we'll help toddlers develop rhythm while further developing their ever-emerging language skills. With a special stringed instrument emphasis in the music from class, parents can bring home the violin, cello, and orchestra sounds to help their toddlers stay happy and engaged learners at home, too.

For Fall 2011 the curriculum is:  "Wiggles and Giggles

Wiggles & Giggles is all about movement (wiggles!) and fun, funny words and
sounds, and emotion (giggles!).  The songs are about humor, laughter, silly sounds and words, and movement.  Everyday activities like bath time are highlighted in the delightful book 'Pete and
PJ' from the Kindermusik library.

For Spring 2012 the curriculum is:  "Away We Go

Hop on the train, get in the car, board the plane, and Away We Go! This class focuses on transportation, a favorite topic for toddlers who are on the go, go, go! Sing and play along with favorite songs, such as “I’ve Been Workin’ on the Railroad” and “Wheels on the Bus”. Explore fast and slow, smooth and bumpy, and high and low. Read stories about ways to get around. Shiny Dinah tells the story of a train, and Giddy-Up! has a horse, speedboat, racecar, and more to help you get where you want to go.
