Justin S.

Justin S. studied cello and bassoon and graduated summa cum laude from the University of St. Thomas with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. Though he performs regularly for various ensembles and events, Justin’s true passion is learning and teaching. While cello and bassoon are his expertise, Justin plays an instrument of almost every single instrument family, including harp and piano. His experience playing a wide variety of instruments and learning from as many different teachers gives him a unique perspective on music and teaching. 

Along with teaching and performing, Justin works as a luthier at a local violin shop—he knows the cello inside and out, literally! In his spare time, Justin likes to hike with his wife and daughter, restore antique instruments, and attend local live music events. Justin has a particular appreciation for Irish music and history and has a minor in Irish Studies from the University of St. Thomas.
