Piano Teacher
Irina S.

Hello, my name is Irina S. I offer private one-on-one piano lessons, music theory, and music appreciation lessons in the Cy-Fair Area, and I also work as a piano teacher at Cy- Fair Music and Arts. I am an experienced piano teacher with a Master of Music Degree.  I'm a member of  Music Teachers National association (MTNA), Texas Music Teacher Association (TMTA), North West Houston Music Association (NWHMT), Bay Area Music Teacher Association (BAMTA), and Gulf Coast Music Association (GCMTA). I was professionally trained in Russia, in my hometown of Novosibirsk. There, I started playing piano at a local music school at the age of seven.  Besides one-on-one piano, I studied music theory, solfeggio (ear training), music appreciation (music history), and many other very important and interesting subjects for a total of eight years. During that time I had won prizes in various piano contests and music festivals. I continued to study piano professionally at Novosibirsk State Music College and finally, at Novosibirsk State Glinka Conservatory where I received a Master of Music and majored in Classical Opera. I participated in various music competitions in Russia and was honored with a Special Recognition Prize at the Glinka  Vocal Contest. After graduating from the music conservatory, I worked at Novosibirsk State Opera Theater and Novosibirsk State Philharmonic. At the same time, I started working as a private piano and voice teacher. In 1999, I came to the United States (St. Louis, MO.) I lived there for twelve years and worked as a private piano  teacher, while also being a member of St. Louis Symphony Chorus. In 2012, I moved to Houston where I continue to share my  love of music to my students.
