Born in Singapore, Tenor Albert S. has fostered a passion for music as long as he can remember. Although proficient in multiple instruments, Albert chose to pursue a degree in Classical Voice with an emphasis on Opera, earning his B.F.A. from Carnegie Mellon in 2016. Since then he has performed with the likes of Andrea Bocelli, Pia Toscano, Shenyang, and Nadine Sierra. In February of this year Albert made his Houston debut as Al in the World Premiere of Anthony Brandt's Chamber Opera, Kassandra, at Opera In The Heights.
Outside of classical music Albert performed in several bands in the Pittsburgh area while attending Carnegie Mellon, most notably the a capella group the CMU Originals. As well as Voice, Albert teaches Piano and Guitar and has played both instruments since his early teens and before. Placing importance on a wide breadth of styles, he teaches from multiple genres, incorporating classical techniques and music theory with pop methods. Albert loves watching his students grow into aspiring young artists and is excited to be joining the team at Cy-Fair Music and Arts.
