Laura P.

Born in Fort Worth, TX, Laura earned her Bachelor in Arts and Sciences with a concentration in Vocal Performance from Prairie View A&M University (2020). During her time at PVAMU, she auditioned for Showboat at the Houston Grand Opera. This opportunity led her to sing six seasons with the Houston Grand Opera, as a chorus singer. She sang in operas, such as Otello, Madame Butterfly, Nixon in China, Norma, and Götterdämmerung. Additionally, she has performed for organizations across the Houston, TX area, including the Home and Place project and Houston Ebony Opera Guild. While at PVAMU, she performed on behalf of former University President, Mr. George C. Wright at the Thurgood Marshall Award while  on student recruitment events in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX and New Orleans.

Laura fell in love with music early in life. At the age of twelve, she was accepted into the Texas Girls Choir by competitive audition. As a member of that Choir, she participated in numerous performances in Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji.

Laura is excited to share her knowledge and passion for music with her students at Cy-Fair Music and Arts.
