Art Teacher
Morgan B.
Morgan is a native Houstonian and a graduate of the Katherine G. McGovern College of the Arts at University of Houston. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting. The painting program at University of Houston allowed Morgan to develop his painting practice in a private studio with individual instruction and mentorship from compassionate and experienced faculty members.
Growing up, Morgan spent nearly every day drawing with his grandfather, an artist and architect. Morgan’s mother is also a gifted artist and always supported his artistic endeavors. Creativity and self-expression were strongly encouraged at home. During his childhood, Morgan learned the value of working patiently to develop his artistic voice and to embrace the process of making art as a source of joy and endlessly enriching challenges.
Morgan’s primary mediums are painting and drawing. He believes in the importance of drawing as a foundation for any visual arts practice. His favorite medium is oil painting and his favorite subjects to paint are landscapes. Some of Morgan’s favorite painters are Pierre Bonnard, Neo Rauch, Diego Velazquez, Gustav Klimt, and Claude Monet.
After art school, Morgan was inspired to guide others in realizing their artistic potential. He led the art program in a rural Texas school district teaching students ranging from kindergarten through high school each day. From that experience, Morgan learned that young artists deserve an individualized and elevated arts education. He is driven to create a classroom environment that fosters classical skills, promotes artistic freedom, builds confidence, and helps students to unlock their creative abilities to achieve results beyond what they imagined to be possible.
