Gizelle earned her diploma in fashion design and illustration while simultaneously pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business. Her first career in fashion spanned design, merchandising, buying, marketing, advertising, and franchising before she took to teaching art full time 12 years ago. She believes that we are all inherently creative and with the right instruction anyone can be successful at artmaking.

She earned a second bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees in education, teaching and curriculum development respectively with research focused on arts education and creativity. She is a Texas certified teacher and is constantly looking for new ways in which youth and adults can be taught to be creative thinkers.

Gizelle is mom to 3 teenagers and 2 furry babies. She has lived, taught, and experienced life in different countries, speaks multiple languages and has a deep interest in culture and food. She enjoys mixed media and expressive arts where she can combine her various experiences to express personal narratives through art. Outside of art she enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.
