Joseph is a highly accomplished musician and educator with over 18 years of experience. He is passionate about helping his students develop a love for music and reach their full potential.
Joseph is proficient in a variety of instruments, including drums, percussion, piano, keys, bass guitar, and guitar. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Percussion Performance with a Jazz Emphasis from Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory and a Master of Science in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University.
Joseph has shared the stage with some of the world's most renowned musicians, including Krzysztof Penderecki (Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, Alfonso Cuaron's Children of Men), Pulitzer Prize and Grammy award-winning composer William Bolcom, Dwight Oltman (Ballet San Jose), Carl Allen (Freddy Hubbard, Jackie McLean, Christian McBride, The Juilliard School), OCP national recording artist Josh Blakesley, and many more nationally-acclaimed rock, pop, and jazz artists.
Joseph has also studied extensively with some of the most respected musicians and educators in the nation, including Josh Ryan, Greg Banaszak, Jim Wall (Big Brother and the Holding Company), Valerie Naranjo (the Saturday Night Live Band), and Dave Hershey (Logan Wells’ Patsy Cline Revue).
Joseph's students have had both regional and national success as recording artists and performers, including being signed to national record labels (Universal Records, Columbia Records) and winning national music competitions, including the 2019 High School Rock-Off (held at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio). Several of his former students have gone on to study at some of the nation’s top music colleges and conservatories including the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, University of North Texas College of Music, Butler School of Music (The University of Texas at Austin), and Samford University.
Joseph's teaching style is influenced by the Dalcroze, Kodaly, Orff Schulwerk, and Multiple Intelligences approaches. He teaches a variety of genres, including contemporary, classical, jazz, rock, and world music. Joseph believes that everyone has the potential to learn and enjoy music, and he is committed to helping his students reach their full potential in a supportive and positive learning environment.
