Ms. Tanya grew up in Austin in the 1980’s when Austin was still a small city. She is the oldest of 3 girls and enjoyed living in North Austin in the country surrounded by trees and cows. After graduating high school in 1999, Ms. Tanya attended the University of Mary Hardin Baylor, which used to be the all girl’s college of Baylor University. She graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Music Education and began teaching music at an elementary school in Fort Hood. After teaching at Fort Hood for 3 years, Ms. Tanya moved to Houston to work at an elementary school in Pasadena, and to attend the University of North Texas Masters of Library and Information Science Program, which met at the University of Houston. In 2010, Ms. Tanya moved back to Austin to be a librarian at Hillcrest Elementary, and taught piano lessons after school and played flute in the Waterloo Wind Band. In 2017, Ms. Tanya moved back to Houston and began working for CyFair ISD as a librarian at Post Elementary in Jersey Village. She now teaches private piano lessons at CyFair Music and Arts and plays flute in the Cypress Symphonic Band
