Chelsea Scott is a graduating voice student at the master’s degree level and former teaching assistant in the voice area at Stephen F. Austin State University, where she also graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance.

Chelsea has sung the title role in Rusalka at Luke A. Housner’s Summer Opera Workshop and in Suor Angelica with SFASU’s Opera Theatre Company.  Most recently, Chelsea had her debut in Lone Star Lyric’s 2022 Summer Festival as Mimì in the premiere of Mimì’s Perfect Day. Prior, Chelsea was cast as the Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro with Lyric Opera Studio Weimar. She has also portrayed the roles of Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, First Lady in The Magic Flute, and Edith in The Pirates of Penzance (the latter of which her performance received an award) at SFASU. Additionally, she has performed scenes from Street Scene (Rose), West Side Story (Maria), and Der Rosenkavalier (The Marshallin) in SFASU’s yearly opera scenes program.

Outside of opera, Chelsea is a three-time Texoma region NATS semi-finalist, was a featured soloist at the Southwestern ACDA’s 2020 conference with SFASU’s Women’s Choir, and was an appointed soprano soloist at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Nacogdoches. Currently, she is a staff singer at First Methodist Church Houston and Westminster Presbyterian Church Houston.
